Disability Theatre Charity launches Christmas Appeal for young disabled people

Double your donations this Christmas to support Head2Head Sensory Theatre in Big Give Christmas Challenge 2022.

Head2Head Sensory Theatre is taking part in the Christmas Challenge to raise £24,000 in just one week! The funds raised will be used to support young disabled people by giving them the gift of work experience. Work experience with Head2Head Sensory Theatre enables young disabled people to build confidence and skills for employment to build their career.

Donations to the appeal will be generously matched by The Big Give’s Champions during the campaign, meaning your money can support twice as many young people with special educational needs.

Anni Rhodes- Steere, Founder of Head2Head Sensory Theatre says:

“This year we’re looking to raise a total of £24,000. In order to access the £12,000, we have in the matching pot, we need to raise £12,000 in online donations. We hope everyone will give generously this year to enable us to reach more young people who are so passionate to learn and prepare for their futures.”

About our Charity

Following a competitive application process, Head2Head Sensory Theatre has been selected to take part in the Big Give Christmas Challenge 2022.

Our volunteer-led charity wishes to expand its Work Experience Programme to enable more young people with disabilities to benefit from work experience. The charity can only do this by raising money to fund accredited drama and life skills workshops run by experience drama facilitators. Annually, the Programme enriches the lives of twenty young people, providing them with the skills necessary to enroll onto a London drama course or gain employment within the theatre or film industry, or customer facing role.

You can help us to carry out this work by donating to the Big Give Christmas Challenge. All you need to do is visit our page and donate from 12 pm on 29th November to 12 pm on 6th December.

About the Christmas Challenge

Big Give runs the UK’s biggest match funding campaign, the Christmas Challenge.

For seven days, it offers supporters of participating charities the opportunity to have their donations doubled. Founded by entrepreneur and philanthropist Sir Alec Reed CBE, the Christmas Challenge has raised millions of pounds for thousands of charity projects since it first launched on the Big Give in 2008.

The Christmas Challenge is a match funding campaign where donations to participating charities are doubled. The match funds come from two sources – charities secure some of these (Pledges) over the summer. The funds are then boosted by funds from a Big Give Champion who contributes to the match fund pot. The collective pot is used to double donations from online supporters when the campaign is live.
