Head2Head Sensory Theatre, has won the support of the prestigious Aviva Community Fund to expand on its ground-breaking ‘Work Experience Programme’ which provides life & drama skills opportunities for students with learning disabilities.

Our Work Experience Programme offers 1:1 mentoring & guidance to students who want to test their abilities in many forms of theatre craft.  Many progress to join the charity’s Professional Placement Scheme.

If the target funding of £2,000 is reached, our volunteer-led charity will invest the money on a move to a larger premises in Oxted that will provide the adequate facilities needed to expand the project.

Head2Head’s Work Experience Programme Co-ordinator, Edd Livesey-Casey said:We are thrilled to receive the Aviva Community Fund grant. This is huge boost towards achieving our goals in securing a brighter future for young aspiring students who dream of making that huge leap into the world of theatre. Thanks to Aviva we have the chance to provide a further 20 students with a place on our scheme in 2022. We have also located a suitable building that is close to two special colleges so that we can involve their students in the programme without them having to travel too far. Thank you Aviva and everyone who supports us.

Many students with learning difficulties & hidden disabilities use the magic of theatre to access and/or make sense of the world around them.

Isolation during the pandemic has left these vulnerable young people anxious & unprepared for the future.

The Head2Head Sensory Theatre charity’s Work Experience Programme provides a stepping stone towards employment as performers, with two students progressing onto their Professional Placement Scheme and one enrolled with a theatrical agency every year.

Any donations big or small will help our dreams become a reality.
