What is a Parkinson’s M.E.D.S class?

An inspiring & delightful dance/exercise class that allows participants to focus on individual parts of the body through specialised “Parkinson’s Dance Exercises”. The class consists of both chair & standing routines that work through the whole of the body & individual joints. Music accompanies all the exercises & accumulates in a dance at the end of the session.

What should I wear?

Please wear comfortable clothes that you can easily move in & shoes that will not restrict the movement of the feet.

Do I need to bring anything?

Just bring a happy smile & the willingness to give it a go!

Do I need a partner?

No you do not need a partner although the class is also open to carers & spouses to accompany you.

What if I can’t do all the exercises?

Everybody in the class is at a different stage of their Parkinson’s journey – it is entirely up to you how much you wish to participate. Exercises can also be adapted if needed.

What happens during the session?

Once everybody has arrived, we start our dance/exercise class for approximately one hour. We then finish the session with tea/ coffee/ biscuits & socialising time.
